Houthis will limit attacks to Israel-linked ships if the Gaza ceasefire is fully upheld. Sanctions on U.S. and U.K. vessels have been lifted but could resume if hostilities escalate.
Yemen's Houthi forces have announced they will restrict their attacks to Israel-linked ships if the Gaza ceasefire is fully implemented. They have lifted sanctions on U.S. and U.K.-owned vessels but warned that any aggression from these nations or Israel would lead to reinstated measures. The Houthis have conducted over 100 attacks since November 2023, causing significant disruptions to global shipping, with many companies rerouting vessels to avoid risks. Despite the ceasefire, uncertainty remains, and insurers and shipping companies are waiting for stability before resuming Red Sea operations. The Houthis continue to hold the Galaxy Leader ship and its crew, with reports of deteriorating health conditions among the hostages.
