Diverse Fleets, Modern Designs

Ships we work with

Fleet We Operate:

Maritime Brokers and Consultants, Inc. (MBC), manages a diverse fleet of vessels designed to meet various cargo and trade route demands. Our fleet includes nimble coasters, Handysize, Panamax, Supramax, and Multi-purpose (MPP) bulk carriers, essential for transporting dry bulk cargoes like grains, coal, and minerals. These ships, many of which are equipped with advanced loading and unloading gear, ensure efficiency and flexibility.

We also operate specialized vessels such as Product Tankers for refined petroleum, Offshore Service Vessels for oil and gas operations, and Woodchip Carriers for large volumes of woodchips. Modern designs prioritize fuel efficiency and sustainability, ensuring safe and efficient global transport. MBC's versatile fleet adapts to the evolving needs of global commerce.

Ship Types

Handysize are the medium bulk carriers of between 20,000 ~ 40,000 metric tons DWT (150-200 meters length & 9-11 meters draft). These bulkers are well suited for small ports with length and draught restrictions, or ports lacking transshipment infrastructure. Handysize vessels are primarily used for carrying dry cargo such as iron ore, coal, cement, finished steel, fertilizer, and grains etc.

Supramax bulk carriers range between 50,000 to 65,000 metric tons DWT (190-200 meters length & 12-13.5 meters draft). These vessels are well suited for ports with moderate restrictions and a variety of trading routes. Supramax Vessels are primarily used for transporting dry bulk cargo such as coal, grain, cement, iron ore, and steel products.

Panamax bulk carriers are ships with a maximum DWT of about 65,000 to 85,000 metric tons (225-230 meters length & 13.5-15 meters draft). These vessels are designed to fit through the Panama Canal's lock chambers. Panamax Vessels are primarily used for carrying dry cargo such as coal, grain, iron ore, and other bulk commodities.

Multi-purpose Bulk Carrier vessels typically range between 10,000 to 30,000 metric tons DWT (120-190 meters length & 6-10 meters draft). These ships are designed for flexible cargo handling, including containers, project cargo, and bulk goods. MPP vessels are primarily used in ports with various cargo handling requirements, to carry items like steel, machinery, and forest products.

Product Tanker vessels range between 10,000 to 60,000 metric tons  DWT (120-200 meters length & 6-13 meters draft). These tankers are designed to transport refined petroleum products, chemicals, and other liquid cargo. Product Tankers are well suited for both regional and international routes and often serve ports with specific handling facilities.

Offshore Supply Vessels typically range between 1,000 to 6,000 metric tons DWT (50-100 meters length & 4-6 meters draft). These vessels are designed to support offshore oil and gas operations, including supply, anchor handling, and platform maintenance. Offshore Supply Vessls are primarily used for transporting equipment, personnel, and supplies to offshore installations.

Woodchip Carrier vessels range between 40,000 to 70,000 metric tons DWT (180-200 meters length & 10-12 meters draft). These ships are specifically designed with large cargo holds to transport woodchips in bulk. Woodchip Carriers are primarily used for carrying woodchips to paper mills and biomass energy facilities.

Coasters are small bulk carriers ranging between 1,000 to 15,000 metric tons DWT (60-140 meters length & 4-8 meters draft). These vessels are ideal for short sea routes and small ports with length and draft restrictions. Coasters are primarily used for transporting dry cargo such as coal, cement, grain, and general cargo.
